Server error. It sends real html content followed by an eternity of NULs, unless the user agent specifies the header 'Accept-Encoding: gzip'. You can do that by specifying that as the argument to --header, but of course then the downloaded content will be sent gzip-compressed (and Wget won't decompress it).

When wget downloads the page http://www.faucetgallery.com (as of May 20 2009) it inserts 100 megabytes of null characters into the file (see attachment). This was unexpected, and doesn't reflect what was expected.

If I use firefox 3.0.10 (on windows) to view the same page the null characters are not present.

I have attached the wget download the firefox download, and also the output from "wget -d" for the same page.

The command used to retrieve this page was
wget -x http://www.faucetgallery.com
