I think MathJAX is pretty much the standard now, and using it is just a matter of exporting formulae as MathML and including some javascript into the header of your file.

In order to do this you have the choice between the tag <html-javascript-src|>, which inserts the html <script> tag in the body, or the environment variable html-head-javascript-src <assign|html-head-javascript-src|http://cdn.mathjax.org/mathjax/latest/MathJax.js?config=MML_HTMLorMML>

Note that the latter seems to be ignored under some circumstances.

Please add jsMath support when exporting to HTML.
