I filed a separate bug for the missing text in bug #30130.

This bug is closed. Both the text and the map rendering don't have to do with the first reported bug, so should be reported in new, separate bugs.

Confirmed on 0.8.7, please update the category.

Can you open a new bug for this? I don't think it has the same cause, and these long bugs for several different issues get confusing.

Also, it it's a regression can you give a revision on the new bug report that worked with that exact same SWF? Or at least a launcher script so that I can test it?

Another bug report for the text would also be useful. I'm closing this one.

The new array code seems to do just about enough to get gnash-debug-2.sh to work. Other scripts don't work, but I'm not sure if they are supposed to work offline.

Hello,

Having compiled the lastest code of gnash on my Debian Lenny box, i confirm that the problem entionned here is still there

Cheers

The problem is the class that is supposed to extend Array. As gnash's Array implementation is a separate type, code like this doesn't work:

A = function() {};
A.prototype = new Array();

var r = new A();
trace(r.length);

In the SWF, the length value of an Array subclass is undefined, so decrementing it and comparing it to 0 always returns false. That creates the infinite loop.

I've committed a change that ought to fix the parsing problem. I now get a failure because Gnash never exits a certain actionscript loop. I suspect the invocation (gnash-debug-2.sh) should work offline, which means this is still broken. I can see where the loop is, but it's not obvious why Gnash isn't leaving it.

If you can test online from a build of trunk it would at least help to confirm whether the bug is fixed or not.

I don't have a google analytics account or a registered website, so I need the correct commandline invocation for the SWF. It needs flashvars to work properly, and although I've got it to parse the faulty tag differently, I don't know if the SWF now works or not.

"GNASH_OPTIONS=writelauncher firefox" [or whatever browser you use] will write the invocation to /tmp/gnash-debug-?.sh. It doesn't really matter if it won't work without logging in, as I can probably hack it to load something else.

Moreover, 5976 * 6 is greater than the entire tag size. It looks like it's just misreported (this from Ming):

Stream out of sync after parse of blocktype 48 (SWF_DEFINEFONT2). 60103 but expecting 24984.
Stream out of sync after parse of blocktype 48 (SWF_DEFINEFONT2). 72544 but expecting 48126.

This is indeed odd. The parser is interrupted while parsing the kerning table in a DefineFont2 tag.

Gnash and Ming both expect 5976 kerning pairs. Gnash checks to make sure there are 5976 * 6 bytes left in the tag, and there are only 737. Ming goes on to parse all 5976; if you disable the check, Gnash parses 122 before reaching the end of the stream.

Until the point where Gnash fails, the numbers agree with Ming (the parsing code is identical, so not a surprise), except that Ming truncates what it reads as uint16_t them to uint8_t, even though they are wide codes. This is probably a bug in Ming.

You could start by adding the URL of the video(s) you're talking about.

See http://wiki.gnashdev.org/Bug_reports for ways to be even more helpful.
