You might see if either of --content-disposition or -O filename do what you need.

In a wget of a specific target filename--usually a podcase--the
CDN will inevitably use redirection to reach the ultimate content.
This generally ends up being a filename with a long, useless suffix.
wget faithfully brings this all into the stored filename.
It would be helpful if there was a switch which would force the
destination filename to be the original target filename, ignoring
any mangling caused by redirections. For instance:
http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/DavesLounge/~5/w0SbjRkrk9Q/DavesLounge-20090316.mp3
is stored at a filename like:
DavesLounge-20090316.mp3?nvb=20090317144619&nva=20090318145619&t=0c5befd25e549be43ce0e
