A similar problem exists with the -r option if there is more than one file in the patch that has rejects: rejects would overwrite themselves and only the rejects from the last file would remain.

This particular case is fixed on the "testing" branch now.

When a diff touches the same file more than once and there are rejects in more than one of the patches, patch will overwrite its own reject files. This is the same problem as with backup files (except that the conflict needs to be resolved differently).
