Hi,

I'm also a novice Denemo user (Windows version). I've tried setting up a piece with 3 voices that have different lyrics. I've been deleting and re-inputting the lyrics. I can see the lyrics for the other voices in Denemo but LilyPond just seems to print out dashes whatever I do (and believe me I've tried a lot). The lyrics print out in part but in other places they are just dashes.

Is there any workaround?

I think you are doing a great job and keep up the good work!

There is a bug flagged here which is not fixed: you cannot delete lyrics completely - you can only delete all the text. This is not a high priority for lyrics but for figured basses it is very bad, since you can accidentally create figures on two staffs which then creates a LilyPond error which is difficult to fix.
Anyway, I'll put this bug as postponed for now, since we do need something to delete all (lyrics, chord symbols, figured basses), (i mplementor's note: I think it is just a matter of setting a flag si->haslyrics, perhaps after deleting all the GStrings).

I entered 1 word of lyric just to explore this Denemo feature (I am a novice Denemo user and am just exploring it now). After I realized how it works and decided to erase that word, my entire composition was left with '-' under every note. Trying to research this, I found Richard's post of 27 Feb 09 about a bug he just fixed where this '-' is changed to '_' to work as intended with Lillypond. I write here to suggest that when a lyric is deleted, please check to see if there are no lyrics left in the whole song, and if not, don't keep putting any characters related to lyrics in the Lillypond output at all. I know it's trivial but thinking about this made me feel dirty. Thanks and keep up the good work. I like your software.
