I have submitted a small patch http://savannah.gnu.org/patch/index.php?func=detailpatch&patch_id=1100&group_id=353, although I think that the whole method should be verified for other compliance issues.

The static method System.IO.Directory.Exists( String path ) throws an exception when the specified path does not exist, instead of returning #f.
In the M$ documentation, this method only seems to throw FileIOPermission, when the process is not allowed to read a directory along the specified path.
