Thanks for the quick fix Richard.
Everything is fine now :-)

I missed the raised exception because it didn't get logged as usually... I can only detect it by setting a breakpoint on -[NSException raise] with GDB. Is this caused by the invocation forwarding that messes up the exception handling in some way?

I also got some troubles with the fact that gnustep-base is now installed in Local rather than System domain, so I was under the impression the problem wasn't truly fixed. I posted a mail to tell other people about this change on gnustep-discuss list. You might want to add some comments or correct my statements.

Interesting ... thanks to David Chisnall I had added code to raise an exception when an attempt was made to forward an invocation and the types of the method in the invocation didn't match those of the method to be used.

This was catching an error in the distributed notification code where one part of the code thought the argument was an integer and the other part thought it was a long.
Harmless on systems where sizeof(int) = sizeof(long), but a nasty bug when we port to other architectures.

Anyway, the raising of an exception when trying to post the notification in your application meant that your part of the code was never receiving the notification.

I have checked that gpbs and gdomap are both running

GNUstep base, gui, back r27135 and gnustep-make a bit older
Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon, GCC 4.1.3, libffi 4.2.1

I have attached a test example that shows the problem. NSWorkspaceDidLaunchApplicationNotification doesn't seem to be received currently, either when I open another application or when my code synthetizes the notification which should be at least received locally. This code used to work well few months ago.

I have checked that gpbs and gdomap are both running. I observed they did log nothing when I started both of them in verbose mode and I ran my example.

For running the test, I do:
obj/test
and then I launch Gorm for example by typing:
openapp Gorm

but 'test' doesn't print as I expect it:
'App launched: test notif description'
'App launched: Gorm notif description'

Thanks,
Quentin.
