I was wrong about namespaceURI. It's fixed now, and all the maps at least do something.

These are pretty good:

http://www.flamingo-mc.org/modules/tinyd2/index.php?id=8 (interactive)
http://www.flamingo-mc.org/modules/tinyd2/index.php?id=4 (just a static map)

For others, the maps themselves don't display. The ones relying on ExternalInterface of course don't work either, but they should probably display something even without ExternalInterface being implemented.

I'd suggest anyone who wants to investigate further open a new bug for those, and this bug (XML parsing) can be closed.

Now attributes and the remaining XMLNode methods are implemented. The URL is still wrong. URLs appear to be constructed from XMLNode.namespaceURI, a processed "root URL", and a filename from XMLNode.localName. I can't see anywhere in the loaded XML where a standard namespace (xmlns="...") is set, so Gnash seems to be correct to leave it empty. The localName part also seems correct.

The likeliest options are:
a) the root url isn't correctly processed.
b) I'm wrong about XMLNode.namespaceURI.

There are also ExternalInterface calls involved, and though I haven't seen any direct connection with this problem, ExternalInterface might be involved in setting important variables.

Swfdec loads this movie, by the way, though it doesn't get any further than displaying the map.

Now those four methods are implemented the SWF has a more sensible looking URL to load, but it's still wrong.

The SWF uses getNamespaceForPrefix (and possibly getPrefixForNamespace), which aren't implemented. Because there are no UNIMPLEMENTED log messages, it seems that it's not getting that far.

Another problem is that the SWF tries to set XMLNode attributes, which Gnash doesn't allow. This is also an obstacle to implementing the namespace-prefix lookups, which look like they should just search through the attribute object's properties.

might be important. I'll have a look at the AS.

With revno 10288 the error is no longer 'please start XML with flamingo tag', but 'cannot load movie ... undefined/undefined'. I haven't yet looked at why.

Flamingo should be free software, but didn't look very
closely at licencing.

Anyway, all the demos from the site [1] result in an error
printed. The error seems to come from Gnash, and indeed I've
been told there's no error with the Adobe player.

Error seems to be about XML loading.
