The SWF has gone, so closing this even though the second part of the bug may not have been fixed.

bwy, thanks for fixing MovieClip.getURL. I haven't tested your changes because you don't have daily snapshot Debian packages for Debian testing, but I plan to test them when the next gnash is released and packaged for Debian.

If you like, you can lower the severity of this bug, and not worry so much about fixing the login button. This is because there's another way to log in -- http://www.grandcentral.com/account -- and I doubt GrandCentral's members-only SWF applets work yet. (They didn't work in 0.8.3.) I want to retest those in 0.8.4 and file detailed bugs about them, including debug logs. Once those work, then the priority of fixing the login button can be raised back to normal.

So, the navigation should be fixed now (MovieClip.getURL should have been using the base URL when a relative URL was passed as an argument).

It uses MovieClip.getURL(), which is why it works a bit better now.

The help button works. For the other navigation buttons, Gnash tries to load something from the filesystem; the first part of the url is missing, but that seems to be the only problem.

Still not sure what the login button problem is.

Problem

When you click any of the buttons in the Flash applet at the top of the http://www.grandcentral.com home page, nothing happens. Really, each button is supposed to do something.

Steps to repro on Linux

1. Install the trunk version of Gnash
2. wget 'http://www.grandcentral.com/flash/GC_HomeHeader.swf?1000' -O GC_HomeHeader_1000.swf #(or just download the attached file)
3. gnash -v GC_HomeHeader_1000.swf -P "flashvars=current_page=home&secure_login=https://www.grandcentral.com/account/login_from_flash/" -u http://grandcentral.com/flash/playa.swf &
4. click "Log In"

What should happen

  • The mouse over effects should happen: the Log In button should shimmer a bit
  • Some text boxes should appear where you can enter a username and password

The above is what happens using the Adobe(tm) Flash(tm) Player plugin for Linux. So Gnash should do the same thing.

What happens using Gnash

  • The mouse over effects happens: the Log In button shimmers a bit
  • In the X terminal where I started Gnash, it says:

4049:3061905728] 17:17:21 TRACE: onLoginClicked
4049:3061905728] 17:17:21 TRACE: [GC_GenericPlayerButton] onLoginClicked

  • Nothing else happens.

Notes

  • I repro'd this on Linux. But if you want me to try to come up with a set of steps to repro on Windows, just ask.
  • I had this problem on Debian using Gnash 0.8.3 and the Debian IceApe web browser. On irc.freenode.net #gnash, Jewfro-Macabbi repro'd it using Gnash 0.8.3, Gentoo, and a different web browser; strk repro'd it using Gnash trunk.
  • The md5sum of the .swf which I am having the problem on, and which I have attached, is:

d24cc59bfc1095e03b9568480fac6a70 GC_HomeHeader_1000.swf
