Closing since original poster indicates that it's working in latest SVN.

I observe this problem with Metacity, windows vanish each time I try to establish a connection, by dragging the connection from a widget to an instance in the gorm document window.

I currently use latest svn: base, gui, back and gorm r26829
This may eventually be related to the selection problem I reported here: #23836

Quentin.

I tried this today with the latest of everything and I'm unable to make it occur here either.

I'm using WindowMaker 0.92.0-7ubuntu1, no other apps are displaying this behaviour using the build of yesterday's version of GNUstep in svn.

If you let me know which --GNU-Debugs are useful to identify what's happening, I'd be glad to help.

I've nuked my defaults, and the behaviour has not changed. I'm not running a theme or anything that's messing with drawing.

Which window manager are you using? I tried to reproduce this behaviour on KDE 4, but faield to see the same results.

During the last few months there have been a few changes to the focus handling done y Hubert Chathi during the Google Summer of Code, but as far as I can tell these improved things. But it may be different for older window manager not supporting some of the currently used protocols.

I don't think the changes in Gorm should affect this, that is why I made this a backend bug.

How to replicate:

Open a new empty project in Gorm, and add a window. Click on the inspector and the window vanishes and the inspector changes to not referring to any current object. The NSWindow can be made visible again using the Window menu. Changing properties is impossible, as is using connections.

Reverting to a binary copy of GNUstep+Gorm from a checkout from 4 weeks ago does not have this problem. There is almost nothing in my Gorm defaults, and the new install was into a clean directory tree.
