Fixed in r4270, search history was actually completely broken with --disable-justify regardless of the -H option.

nano-2.1.0 works fine with same nanorc and configure options. my .nanorc def has 'set historylog' and strace shows it being opened.

the problem appears to be with '--enable-nanorc --disable-justify'. if i build with justify support enabled, my history works. odd.

Hey Mike,

I'm having trouble replicating this with 2.1.2 under either Linux or OSX. I was going to suspect you had lost the -E flag or 'set historylog' option from your .nanorc, but you mention that it's being updated when you strace it. Well, there is either another problem on your system or it's due to a combination of options being used. Can you send me your .nanorc and tell me what command line flags you are using, as well as which configure options you set?

Not to wish bad things on you but I'm hoping this is an issue with your filesystem and not inside nano :-) I just don't remember touching anything having anything to do with that subsystem since 2.1 opened.

i dont think configuration options changed, but search history does not seem to work anymore with 2.1.1

running with strace shows that my ~/.nano_history is being opened and updated, but when i use up/down arrow keys in nano, only the searches ive done since i ran nano are available. anything from previous runs is not accessible.

so to reproduce:
- run nano
- hit CTRL+W (search)
- hit up arrow (see that nothing shows up)
- type in something and hit enter
- exit nano
- run nano
- hit CTRL+W (search)
- hit up arrow (see that nothing shows up)
