Well, seems not to fail anymore with an updated ming..
no idea what version I was running, will reopen if I find out.

I'm running 00040006 here, which isn't really known as
version (was never released, only CVS and current HEAD should
have been changed in version already).

Revision 1.7 of Matrix.as runs w/out failures (expected or unexpected) with current gnash head (2008-06-11).

I attached my MovieClip-v7.swf for you to test.

Just found many tests in Matrix.as also failed here with Ming0.4.beta5. The problem is probably Ming related.

Ming version code here is 00040005(from make dumpconfig).

From SWF5 to SWF8 these two fail for me in current head:

FAIL: astests-v*-Runner: expected: 0 obtained: 0.05 [MovieClip.as:1336]
FAIL: astests-v*-Runner: expected: 2 obtained: 2.05 [MovieClip.as:1344]
