If you handle to read lines containing the 'error' string
your curiosity would be satisfied ;)

I didn't install that plugin. I do not even know that was necessary! :)

Now I just installed it and... worked! Now I can see some Flash animations on my browser. Many thanks!

Ps: ... however, I would like to know why the compilation didn't work for me. I'm curious ;)

Did you install the plugin for your browser? (e.g. mozilla-plugin-gnash)

As recommended by Robert Millan, I'v tried to use the backport version. It installed with no errors, but the browsers didn't get the plugin.

Alex, you need to add some more lines from the make install error,
specifically something that tells what went wrong.
Please try to read the messages and understand them :)

There are backported packages of 0.8.2 for etch available, see:
http://packages.debian.org/etch-backports/gnash

and http://backports.org/ for information on how to use backports.

make[1]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/alexsander/Gnash_install/gnash-cvs/server'

Try the current CVS version.
Snapshots from http://www.gnashdev.org/dev_snapshots
Set LANG=C when building so error messages are in english,
check the ERROR log (not stdout) and look for 'error' lines
there, then feel free to post the first error as a comment
here (if you get any).

Dear Friends

I had uninstall the 0.8.1 version to try to install the 0.8.2 in my debian etch amd64. But when I type make, in order to compile gnash, I get some errors.

I've attached the output from "configure" and "make".
