That isn't a bug. Gnash 0.8.1 (and 0.8.2) describes itself as being compatible with SWF version 8 (8.0 r99) because SWF version 9 isn't officially supported.

Toyota.com evidently has a flash version detector that warns you about not having version 9 and telling you to upgrade. While Gnash will in fact play many SWF9 movies, in this case toyota.com is correct - the SWF doesn't work in Gnash (even in current cvs).

To try and play the movie anyway, you can either grab a more recent package of Gnash from somewhere (getgnash.org may have one for fedora) or compile it yourself, making sure that the version number is higher than 9 (this is the default since immediately after the release of 0.8.2).

In any case, you should get 0.8.2 as soon as it's available.

I've closed the bug report, but feel free to add more comments if that's not enough help.

I use the latest firefox.
Most flash sites work fine, but on http://www.toyota.com the opening screen come on and immediately disappears, showing the following message:

You will need to install Flash on your computer to experience Toyota.com in its entirety. Please click here to download a Adobe® FLash® player.

This is the same for other pages on the site.
