Gnash did report the error in his log:

ERROR: NetStream playback halted; module gnash_uridownloader reported: Could not open resource for reading.

So everything seems fine.

That's an internal server error from youtube:

6173] 09:14:48: ERROR: HTTP response 500 from url http://youtube.com/set_awesome?w=0&m=&video_id=aIcsIZk7U2g&t=OEgsToPDskJ06VwlHYdha5chRBj7Jzkx&l=104
6173] 09:14:48: DEBUG: returning
6173] 09:14:48: DEBUG: notifying Stage listeners about a resize
6173] 09:14:48: ERROR: NetStream playback halted; module gnash_uridownloader reported: Could not open resource for reading.

If you can rule out a temporary server error from youtube (though they shouldn't return that code if it's not their fault), it may be a gstreamer bug, as gstreamer handles the download.

Hi,

I had this bug but it is now solved by latest upload of gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad under Debian Sid (0.10.6-5).

Works for me too.
Web Browser 2.20.1 (epiphany).
Gstreamer version is: 0.10.14

btw Ben, we don't print gstreamer (or ffmpeg) version
in the Help->About widget, while we do on gnash --version.

I used a ubuntu-packaged version. These are the last lines from the distro-specific changelog:
--------------------------------------------

gnash (0.8.2-0ubuntu2) hardy; urgency=low

* add missing build-dependencies libboost-serialization-dev
- update debian/control

-- Alexander Sack <asac@ubuntu.com> Wed, 05 Mar 2008 20:57:12 +0100

gnash (0.8.2-0ubuntu1) hardy; urgency=low

* package 0.8.2 release (Freeze exception, LP: #195443)
* drop pkglibs that don't exist anymore from gnash-common.install
and add new libgnashmedia-*.so to package
- update debian/gnash-common.install
* update binaries installed by gnash-tools.install: drop usr/bin/gparser
and add usr/bin/soldumper as well as usr/bin/dumpshm
- update debian/gnash-tools.install
* disable tests by configure flags and drop obsolete disable-testsuite
patch
- update debian/rules
- drop debian/patches/disable-testsuite
- update debian/patches/series
* run make install-plugins to install the plugins and use /usr/lib/gnash
as --with-npapi-plugindir= in during configure
- update debian/rules
* unfold Build-Depends: to multi-line layout to improve readability/
diffability
- update debian/control
* support firefox 3 and xulrunner 1.9 by setting gnash plugin up as
xulrunner-addons alternative
- update debian/mozilla-plugin-gnash.postinst

-- Alexander Sack <asac@ubuntu.com> Wed, 05 Mar 2008 18:09:23 +0100

gnash (0.8.1-0ubuntu3) gutsy; urgency=low

* fix package description and use SWF instead of Flash

It works for me with Firefox 2 (and without the updated Mozilla SDK).

Can you paste the debug output? Start firefox from the command line, make sure Gnash's verbosity is set to at least 2 - you need messages starting with "DEBUG:" to appear.

Also, are you using a build from yesterday's head or later, and if so, did you do make install-plugin?

try to watch http://youtube.com/watch?v=aIcsIZk7U2g in firefox3.

its not possible, because gnash seems to start at the end of the movie.

reproduced on ubuntu hardy alpha 6.
