Please check again when 0.8.2 is out.

Google throws up pages of results for 'road runner time warner', most of which apparently belong to that company, and most of which rely flash more or less heavily.

The more complex ones don't work (some are SWF8, which still isn't fully supported), others do.

We can't do much with bug reports that say 'this movie doesn't work' at the best of times (although it is useful to know which ones don't), but especially not when it's not even clear which movie or website is meant.

If the original reporter will follow this up and supply the URL, I'll add the movie to the wiki as one to look out for before closing the bug.

That might possibly be excessive memory consumption causing swapping, which you see in hard drive activity and an unresponsive GUI. I don't think Gnash can be responsible for dimming the Firefox window.

0.8.1 is by now an old release and many bugs, including memory consumption ones, have been fixed since then. Build from cvs and try again, or wait for release 0.8.2, which will be coming out in the near future.

If you give an exact URL for the homepage (and preferably for the movie itself - Gnash will tell you, or look through the webpage source) that's causing the problem, someone else might test it for you.

Operating System: Ubuntu 7.10 64 Bit OS
CPU: Intel EM64T (64 Bit)
Firefox Browser 2.0.0.6
Shockwave Flash 8.0 r99
Gnash 0.8.1

This Plug In will cause the Firefox web browser to hang up when accessing the Time Warner Road Runner Home page. It starts the hard drive to act as if it may be searching for some data, it then dims the Firefox window and locks input from both the mouse and the keyboard. This was cured only by pushing the reset button.
