firefox must request exit somehow. In gnash we don't make any effort to ensure signals are handled by any special thread (which we should instead).

with the latest CVS it happens on the youtube homepage, i attached gdb to both processes that gnash spawned and noticed Its not sending a SIGTERM to the all instances (and its not any specific URL), neither instance deadlocked and it seems like it only happens on pages with multiple flash objects

instead it seems that firefox is waiting for gnash to exit or something, but it never tells gnash to exit with a SIGTERM, so it just sits there

Can you try to find the SWF url (should be in your gnash-dbg.log file after going the the urls above) and run it with the standalone player to see if the deadlock can be reproduced ?

or

wait a bit (10-30 seconds), and then close the tab

firefox will lock up, `killall gtk-gnash` will unlock firefox and it will close the tab and stuff will start working as normal

using Firefox 2.0.0.6, Linux (slackware 12)

gnash configure options:

Configured with: --enable-debugger --prefix=/usr/local/ --enable-gui=gtk --enable-renderer=OpenGL --enable-jpeg --enable-freetype2 --enable-fontconfig --enable-Xft --enable-gstreamer --enable-media=GST

using CVS (today)

I went on #gnash on freenode and was told to 'try disabling threading in server/parser/movie_def_impl.cpp', i did that and it appears to fix the problem
