Nah, that's fine, --enable-kparts w/out kde gui selected should already print a YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN like message...

I've already committed a fix that says:

ERROR: No KDE development package installed!
Reconfigure using --enable-gui=...
to choose a different gui

but doesn't mention --enable-kparts. Seems unlikely anyone would use --enable-kparts by accident, but I can put that in too if you think it's necessary.

I think the inaccuracy is in the 'and/or' part.
'or' doesn't apply to --disable-kparts only.
It does apply to --enable-gui=... only.

Maybe the message should be something like:

reconfigure with --enable-gui=... (omitting kde) and do not force --enable-kparts.

Indeed, the only way not to need kde-devel is with --enable-gui=..., omitting kde. In every other case gnash tries to build a kde gui.

When running the configure script on a cvs download retrieved on Aug 26, I get the following error message:

ERROR: No KDE development package installed! Re configure with --disable-kparts and/or omit 'kde' from the guis listed with --enable-gui=... or install the KDE development environment from http://kde.org
or .deb users: apt-get install kdelibs-dev
or .rpm users: yum install <something-else>.

When I use the --disable-kparts option, this error persists. A conversation on gnash-dev reviled that only the --enable-gui=... option will fix this error. Error message should be altered to reflect this.

I am running Ubuntu 7.04.
