Haven't tried with GST yet, but I'm now getting failures with ffmpeg.

Tgc, I suggest you revert the patch in head too.
The syncing mechanism is wrong anyway, we should skip rendering of animation frames, not sound ones.

0.8.1 doesn't have the sync patch, as tgc backed it out. So it's probably related to that.

Another thing. If I play the eventSoundTest1.swf I can only hear sound with ffmpeg, but not with gst. May it be related ?

Nope, I take it back, renderer doesn't change a thing. It's just 0.8.1 which isn't suffering from it.

NOTE: can't be reproduced with GTK/AGG/GST while can be reproduced with GTK/OGL/GST. Also, it seems branch 0.8.1 is unaffected by this bug, can you confirm Udo ?
