I modified this, as the fix was incorrect: it broke the
"--without-libffi" and "--without-libgc" options in configure.
The libraries are still installed by default all the time.

Fixed .. it's installed all the time ... and looking into doing it up
as a .so as well ...

pnet requires an option to enable/dissable the installation of libffi and libgc.

This is to support detached builds that use pnet libraries such as ILEngine and thus inherit a dependency on libffi and libgc.

For me the prefered option would be to install be default, but that might just be because none of the systems I work on have ever had these installed already.
