Hello

run a test with the new built form Paul.

By the way Thanks for all working on the problem!!

The Gnash does not run as Plugin at the test environment.

The firefox add on MediaPlayerConnectivity 0.8.3

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/446

is used.

The MCP pass the pram to an external procedure.

Gnash runs the flash as external player, not as plugin.

Now the test run with the new Built does show a screen with load bar or a screen with "Broken Chain Symbol".

Press the play bottom generates a Sys1041 messages on consol output:

Sorry, it is an german NLS system

The firefox.exe is called from gnash.exe.

In my test environment for gnash.exe - firefox in not in the pass.

Next test:

Run gansh.exe with firefox in the path/runtime environment:

Now firefox is started in background - HDD actitive

or if a firefox session is running, Waring messages "cannot start firefox, terminate the running firefox session first"

so the flash _ the swf from Reuters - is bundled to the calling web side http://www.ftd.de........ at runtime.

The "borken Chain Symbol screen" is there!!

I see no way to run the flash in "external player mode".

We need the gnash plugin for OS/2 to run it.

Can someone with Linux and gnash plugin do a peer test to verify my asumptions/analyse? :-)

Kind regards form Germany

Rainer

I updated from CVS and the failed assertion no longer fails. The flash content still doesn't play correctly but at least it doesn't crash gnash.

To note:

10:10:52: ERROR: Call stack non-empty at end of ExecutableCode run (limits hit?)

I think the above assumption was wrong, call stack doesn't necessarely be empty after execution of global code, as functions might trigger execution of global code.
I left the warning in, but removed the consequent brute-force cleanup of the call stack.

This is on OS/2 with SDL & AGG

Playing the embedded flash in the page at http://www.ftd.de/forschung_bildung/forschung/:Raumf%E4hre%20Endeavour%20Lehrerin/237027.html

Causing the following assertion to fail:
Assertion failed: _localFrames.size(), file as_environment.h, line 488

This is with the last code from head.
