Various places in the code have unexpanded tabs instead of spaces; some of these are right next to spots that use all-spaces. It is not portable to assume that tab == 8 cols, and in any case, we should be consistent with our use of tabs.

Will fix this in trunk before release; note that this will likely lead to annoying merge conflicts :/
