Ah, ok. Using both options does now work (using configure.ac 1.384, both with and without Nick's patch).

You need BOTH --enable-gui=gtk AND --disable-klash for avoiding build of the KDE gui.
If you confirm that you're giving both then it's surely an order problem (the order in which --disable-klash and --enable-gui) are handled in reguard to that line you're mentioning.

131? Presumably that was a typo.

Neither --enable-gui=gtk nor --disable-klash works without said change to line 310.

Ok, I see line 131. I added that, supposing the code after the comma would be executed only if no --enable-gui was given.
Are you giving --enable-gui ? If not, then that's a bug.

Nick, the patch doesn't fix the (only?) problem. It looks like build_gtk and build_kde both get set to 'yes' unconditionally on line 310. If I comment out "build_kde=yes" there, I get a successful configure run.

Braden, please try attached patch - it is hard to test this with having a full blown KDE environment.

You changed configure.ac; autoreconf will pick up that change.

I am using --disable-klash. Have you observed this working on a system without KDE headers installed?

I'm not sure autoreconf does everything needed, please always run ./autogens.sh.

Note that currently, unless you --disable-klash, both the GTK and KDE guis are needed (klash needs KDE).

This means that the message you were getting was wrong, of course.
The whole configuration thing is subject to change, btw.

After updating cvs and running autoreconf, I'm still seeing this behavior.

Should be fixed now, please test.

--enable-gui=gtk doesn't seem to help, either.

I get this error from configure, even when configuring with --disable-klash:
