Committed another fix replacing any
'test x == y' with 'test x = y'.
Please try again.

fetched HEAD from cvs.
ran ./autogen.sh
ran configure w/ same args as before. it failed as shown in attached file [configure.txt]. BOOST date_time is installed. the configure script fails to find it just as it did before my patch. this is what the 2nd part of the patch i included previously addressed. i'm guessing that my '=' vs '==' fixed it & the quotes around xno were unnecessary.

Please try current HEAD branch. I committed a patch with proper quoting of `backticcked` calls.

sorry, i'm not familiar enough w/ autoconf to find the text i need to change in the .ac file, and patching configure directly allows me to make a freebsd port skeleton that builds gnash on my system.

the options i used are:
$ ./configure --libdir=/usr/local/lib/gnash --with-plugindir=/usr/local/lib/browser_plugins --enable-jpeg --disable-klash --disable-cygnal --enable-gui=GTK --enable-sound=SDL --with-mp3-decoder=mad --x-libraries=/usr/local/lib --x-includes=/usr/local/include --prefix=/usr/local --build=i386-portbld-freebsd7.0

my full config.log is at http://www.uffner.com/test/gnash/config.log

You should not patch 'configure' but 'configure.ac' instead.

The portion you're patching seems only active when trying to cross-compile, what configure option did you use ?

configure fails to run on FreeBSD 7.0-CURRENT. my system is:
FreeBSD xiombarg.uffner.com 7.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 7.0-CURRENT #192: Sat Jul 14 03:47:12 EDT 2007 root@xiombarg.uffner.com:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/XIOMBARG i386

it probably does not work on FreeBSD 6.x either.

here is a patch for -Current.
