We've moved to GRUB 2 as a development platform. Please can you check if this bug still applies there, and if it does, reopen it?

Thanks

I am using 'password --md5 <string>' to protect the menu. It is possible to navigate in the menu using up and down keys and select a menu entry by pressing return. However, if I press 'p' nothing happens, i.e. it is not possible to enter the password. Strangely, if I press 'p' during the countdown (timeout) it works.

Note this config works on another system without any problems. My mainboard is a Gigabyte M61P-S3 (nforce 430, AMD X2, latest BIOS version).

Do you have any idea what could cause the trouble?
