I can't reproduce the bug anymore, altought I upgraded the system from Dapper to Ubuntu and I'm building with FFMPEG from SVN.

Ffmpeg version is: Lavc51.40.4

Let's close this, someone will file another if still a problem

I committed a fix to the leaving-decoding-loop-too-early-bug, let me know if it improves anything.

I took the liberty of decompiling the new youtube player with mings swftocxx, and got a few hints.
The "There is no que" trace is about metadata, which should be passed be NetStreams onMetaData event handler, but gnash doesn't support this yet. This shouldn't be fatal.
It seems the player works kind of like this:

  • NetStream::play() is called.
  • When the buffer is full (i assume the 2 second buffer it sets) and "NetStream.Buffer.Full" set, playback is expected to start, nothing is done to make it play, it is just expected.
  • When "NetStream.Play.Stop" is set the movie is stopped, which is a bit unlucky, since that happens when we exits the decoding thread, and at that point there is still about 1 second media left in the queues which haven't been played.

It seems to makes sence

This is still an issue. Tried with 0.8 gtk/ogl/ffmpeg.
Note that the new youtube player has traces.
This one seems interesting, for example:

30323] 08:57:11: TRACE: There is no que?

also a lot of these:

30423] 08:58:46: TRACE: status code of /get_video?video_id=undefined&t=undefined is:NetStream.Buffer.Empty
30423] 08:58:46: TRACE: status code of /get_video?video_id=undefined&t=undefined is:NetStream.Buffer.Full

What's the buffer again ? :)

More info: I can hear some sound, chunks of non-continuos sound.
when end if reached (share / watch again) pressing play plays the sound again, and again not cleanly (like with a reverber) and never all to the end.

This is with a shared build with gtk/agg/ffmpeg.
Note that with a static build everything is fine.
By 'shared' build I mean no --disable-shared nor --disable-static is given.
