I'm afraid your ming version didn't provide a ming-config, and gnash relies on it for detection. Ming-0.3 didn't have it, check it out. You can still provide one yourself, but won't be straightforward

I got the same error trying to compile Gnash even if libming-dev in installed and since I'm new to Linux I need some more help...

1) I can't find ming-config on my system
2) where do I have to use the following code "--enable-ming=<path-to-ming-config>" ?

Thanks

You can use --enable-ming=<path-to-ming-config>

Adding ming-config to the path solves the issue.
However, ming-config is not in the path by default in my Ubuntu feisty.
Cheers

This behaviour is new. On May 30 15:53, libming-dev was detected ok on debian etch (and since then it hasn't been upgraded or removed on that system)

assumpte [Gnash] Trying to compile gnash on ubuntu

I am trying to compile gnash on ubuntu.

I get this warning:

WARNING: You need to have the Ming development and utilities packages
installed to run most of the tests in Gnash testsuite.
Install it from http://ming.sourceforge.net
or .deb users: apt-get install libming-dev

But i have install libming-dev, can you please tell me what can I do to fix the problem?

$ sudo apt-get install libming-dev

libming-dev is already the newest version.

  1. upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 29 not upgraded.

Confirmed same behaviour on Debian etch
