Well, I tried building with the CVS code; a note on that - I needed to update to boost 1.34.0 to get the stuff to link, as 1.33.1 seemed to be missing some symbols (although they were threading symbols, so it is possible that I simply needed to change the symbolic link for libboost-date-time.so to point to a MT version).

After I got everything built and installed, I first noticed that the binary was less than half the size of the binary from 0.7.2, which was obviously a concern. And then when I tried to use the library on the websites mentioned in the original report (www.avp.com and espn.go.com), I get big blank spaces on the pages where the flash content should be.

I guess I'll wait until the next official release of gnash before messing around with this anymore - I don't have a ton of time to work in development code, unfortunately. Feel free to close the issue if you don't see the problem on a similar environment on your end.

You should checkout the code from CVS since a lot has been changed and fixed since 0.7.2. If the problem still exist with current CVS let us know, otherwise let us know too, so we can close this bug.

I have noticed this on many sites, but the two most frequent I've tried in the two days I've had gnash plugin working are http://www.avp.com and espn.go.com. youtube.com also caused this behaviour. I needn't even navigate any further than the home page. I will simply enter the URL, the page will come up, the screen will flash (no pun intended), and I'll be logged out of my session; on several occasions the X server was also killed (crashed?)

Here's what I'm running:

plugin: gnash v. 0.7.2 (downloaded, configured, and built by me)
Browsers: Epiphany 2.16.2, Firefox 2.0.0.3
OS: gentoo 2.6.20-r5
Hardware: Apple 17"Powerbook G4 (PPC)

Of course, I am unable to keep the plugin active while this severe behaviour is so frequent. I will look forward to future releases.
