I added more tests and committed an initial code to support ignoreWhite. It would be really helpful to have you add more complete tests for it in the XML.as file.
Just add the checks in that file (seek for ignoreWhite at the
bottom of the file to see how to do that), run 'make XML-v5.swf' and feed the resulting SWF to the proprietary player and to gnash for comparison. Or, just add what you think should work and we'll review.

Thanks a lot.

Bug confirmed. ignoreWhite is simply ignored...
Preparing automated testing for this I also found another bug:
calling parseXML() twice appends the new parsed objects to the old ones rather then replacing them. I guess the same applies for .load() [ haven't checked the latter ].

running gnash cvs20070512

when loading xml to an xml object with ignoreWhite set to true, extra nodes are still being added between those present in the xml file.

if you run gnash -v xmlbug.swf, the second trace shows extra empty nodes at the start and end as well as between each pair of "track" nodes. the whitespace between the nodes in the xml file should be ignored.

the extra nodes are not added and so you get the expected output if all whitespace is removed between nodes.
