The reason for the first failure is that NetConnection status codes are not properly sent. Once that's fixed, we get the original bug back. I'll commit a fix for the status bug soon.

This looks like another instance of that player, and it still doesn't do anything. The pp plays a video (just with the flashvars and the swf URL), Gnash doesn't even display the skin, and there are no standard logging messages to explain why.

 /usr/local/bin/gtk-gnash -j 342 -k 291 -U 'http://davehoodentertainment.com/KIDSMAINPAGE.htm' -P 'flashvars=&MM_ComponentVersion=1&skinName=Halo_Skin_3&streamName=Fancluboffer3&autoPlay=true&autoRewind=false' -P 'height=291' -P 'name=FLVPlayer1' -P 'pluginspage=http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash' -P 'quality=high' -P 'salign=lt' -P 'scale=noscale' -P 'src=FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf' -P 'type=application/x-shockwave-flash' -P 'width=342' http://davehoodentertainment.com/FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf $@

In this movie, there's an DEFINEVIDEOSTREAM with a Codec ID of 0 and there are no VIDEOFRAME tags with actual data. So I guess the author changed his or her mind about using embedded video but the assembly tool still left it intact.

There is, however, ActionScript code for NetStream in the file. But it is never executed, so this probably is an ActionScript issue.

Looking for "FLVPlayer" and "progressive" I found this url:

It's not the FLVPlayer_progressive.swf, but is a "progressive" (dunno what does it mean) FLV player written in Flash and coming with "sources" (.fla, .as).

Might be worth looking at to see if it works and if not how to fix...

I committed a fix for the assertion failure in both head and 0.8.1 branch. Still, the movie doesn't play as it should. Actually, I don't see the video at all.

I could reproduce with this:

gui/gnash -r0 \
http://grillorama.beppegrillo.it/schiavimoderni/FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf   \
-P 'flashvars=&MM_ComponentVersion=1&skinName=Clear_Skin_2&streamName=http://grillorama.beppegrillo.it/schiavimoderni/incontro_Damiano_spot_2.flv&autoPlay=true&autoRewind=false'

> Nice work folks

Sorry, that sounds sarcastic reading it now. It's not.
