It's possible to specify media handler more than once, but only the latest one gets built. I'd recommend closing this bug because (a) it seems to have been fixed and (b) it should be possible fairly soon to build and use more than one handler as desired.

This bug is a duplicate of #19913 ( the freeze part ).
Please follow up there.
As for the 'several media handlers can be selected'
it is a bug on itself, so won't close this bug for now
(must be verified though)

So basically we need to check in configure.ac for people enabling more than one media handler.

Please try with current CVS, which has threading disabled
for load of Video streams, and an optimization of network polling
functions.

I belive we've a problem with network loads.
Try setting up a full-offline testing framework
and play the movies that freeze from the filesystem.
See http://www.gnashdev.org/wiki/index.php/YouTube#Full_off-line_testing
for instructions

./configure --prefix=/usr --host=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu --mandir=/usr/share/man --infodir=/usr/share/info --datadir=/usr/share --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var/lib --enable-plugin --enable-xml --disable-i810-lod-bias --without-gcc-arch --with-plugindir=/opt/netscape/plugins --enable-renderer=agg --enable-sound=gst --disable-klash --libdir=/usr/lib64 --build=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu
this is with gstreamer, without ffmpeg. works the best for me.
if I choose ffmpeg instead of gstreamer, some movies still hang, but still than better I did with enabling both.

You can't used both! you either use gstreamer by passing --enable-media=gst to configure, or ffmpeg by passing --enable-media=ffmpeg. Please try again and report your findings.

Indeed, with ffmpeg still has problems.
using gstreamer without ffmpeg works better for me.
Clearly using both is asking for trouble.

I had both gstreamer and ffmpeg. disabling gstreamer helps. The movie plays smoothly now.
Thanks!
