This had already been fixed in the XWindow version, but it was still happening in the QT port. It's now fixed in SVN rev 5189.

The problem was twofold: the tm encoding for key presses seems not to follow the convention of enclosing everything in angle brackets as it's done in the encoding files in langs/encodings, which the QT port uses.

The whole encodings issue seems to be quite a mess, with lots of stuff hardcoded and more missing, so I guess this requires a major overhaul.

Is this bug still actual?

This is still so at 1.0.2.10 with gnome 2.4 on a debian sarge.
It is very annoying.

The symbols º and ª cannot be typed using Texmacs on a spanish desktop (KDE or Windowmaker). If you try to type them, nothing appears on the screen.

My system: SuSE 8.1, KDE 3.05, Windowmaker 0.80, Texmacs 1.0.0.24. KDE, Windowmaker and Texmacs using spanish as main language.
