I added stuff in configure to (hopefully) cope with an old version of glibc where the 'wide' field does not exist in the info structure passed.
Please cold you check to see if this fixes the problem.

on my older MkLinux box (gcc 2.95 and older glibc)

Compiling file NSString.m ...
NSString.m: In function `handle_printf_atsign':
NSString.m:518: structure has no member named `wide'
NSString.m:531: warning: implicit declaration of function `fwprintf'
make[2]: *** [obj/NSString.o] Error 1

Could it be related to incomplete wide-char support? should it be "configured" ?
