Oh, I forgot to mention: It was not a AGG bug. Instead, the GTK GUI wasn't properly configured, so this should fix issues with all other renderers as well...

AGG+GTK currently do no resizing. When resizing the player window the AGG buffer gets re-initialized (you probably see a quick flicker).

The problem is, I think, that the GUI (either the core or GTK-GUI) does not update the X/Y scale so AGG keeps on rendering with the same scale.

So, it's not related to AGG. The fact that it (probably) works with other renderers is, that they AFAIK do not use the core scaling as they should. Not sure, though

I guess it should resize to max size maintaining aspect ratio, centring the result in the display window if the new aspect is not the same as the old. What we put on the extra side or top and bottom areas is debatable. Displaying out-of-frame objects is kinda cute and is what the adobe player does, but I guess grey panels would be the least surprising.

It should also allow resizing down from the default movie size scaling line widths as it goes; the agg contains a lot of code to implement separate X and Y scaling but currently does not scale at all, remaining in the top left corner, and the user physically cannot downsize the window.

I can't tell from the screnshots what the "expected" behaviour is, but I think this is not a bug but a feature.

Scaling was deliberately implemented so that it would happen in a linear fashion, that is, maintaining the same aspect ratio. This does mean you'll end up with empty areas on the side of your window.

When a window is resized, the agg renderer does not resize the display accordingly: it displays out-of-frame objects in the extra area on the right, but nothing in the extra area below.
This behaviour may be partly related to the previous bug.

This is similar to the weird behaviour of the adobe9 player in different-aspect windows (see attach)
