Is this problem still present after the NSToolbar reimplementation?

Hi,

For now toolbar view is part of the the content view. I plan to change this later, then your issue should be resolved automatically.

It's useful to know you can call -[NSWindow contentViewWithoutToolbar] and -[NSWindow setContentViewWithoutToolbar:(NSView *)] to manipulate the window content without touching the toolbar at the same time.

Thanks for the report.

Günther,

I'd be interested to see code for this, as I don't think it's happening for me.  I do see the window move down the screen a few pixels each time (but that needs to be a different bug report), but its height doesn't change.  I take it your window gets bigger (or gets smaller??) each time you start up ?

Regards,
Paddy

When using the AppKit's automatic window size storing, a window's height is enlarged by the height of the toolbar if you don't disable the toolbar before storing. I think it's very unintuitive.

I don't know what the intended behaviour of NSToolbar in Cocoa is, but I wouldn't be surprised if they stored a window's coordinates without the toolbar being considered part of the window.

Depending on the conformity of the GNUstep implementation to the Cocoa AppKit, this change request is possibly to be considered a bug.
