After an update and 'gmake -C testsuite/samples clip_as_button2-TestRunner' it still isn't finding the file, but no longer aborts. Instead, I get this message:

Error initializing MovieTester: Could not load movie from ./clip_as_button2.swf

So I think your fix works. I know the other test in samples also has this problem. Would you like me to give you a complete list of tests which are causing this problem on my system?

Oh, and in answer to your question, I built it from the top level of the checkout (.. from testsuite/). I'm not sure what directory you want me to switch to. The test finds the movie if you are in the same directory as the test, and doesn't find it from other directories. I'll follow that part of the problem on ticket #18566 though, since this issue (the abort) has a solution now.

We need a 'testsuite' category maybe ?

I committed a patch for cases in which the movie isn't found.
I'm sure manuy other "test runners" have the same problem, the
fix was only committed for clip_as_button2-TestRunner for you to test. Still, the bug in your case is not being able to find that input file...

Weird, I cannot reproduce the problem.
It seems the SRCDIR macro isn't properly set when building it ?
Or.. maybe you built it from some other place ?
Try switching in it's dir and running 'make clip_as_button2-TestRunner' and then try again.

I've already created ticket #18566 to note that you must run this test from within the 'testsuite/samples' directory. However, Sandro asked me to file a report about the 'Abort', which should not happen.

prompt> testsuite/samples/clip_as_button2-TestRunner
