You can either disable USE_SSE_VECTORIZE, or edit neuralnet.c and remove CheckSSE() if you think you can use the SSE instructions.

This error is the compiler not recognizing the inline asssembler, which I think isn't support in 64 bit.

When building the latest gnubg from CVS on my amd64 Debian Sid system, I receive the following error during 'make'.

The steps I followed when building the code were:
$ cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@cvs.savannah.gnu.org:/sources/gnubg login
$ cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@cvs.savannah.gnu.org:/sources/gnubg co gnubg
$ cd gnubg
$ ./autogen.sh
$ ./configure
$ make

Here's the tail end of the output from 'make':

gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I/usr/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include -g -O2 -MT list.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/list.Tpo -c list.c -o list.o
if /bin/sh ../libtool --tag=CC --mode=compile gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I/usr/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include -g -O2 -MT neuralnet.lo -MD -MP -MF ".deps/neuralnet.Tpo" -c -o neuralnet.lo neuralnet.c; \
then mv -f ".deps/neuralnet.Tpo" ".deps/neuralnet.Plo"; else rm -f ".deps/neuralnet.Tpo"; exit 1; fi
gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I/usr/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include -g -O2 -MT neuralnet.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/neuralnet.Tpo -c neuralnet.c -o neuralnet.o
