Andrea Gamba confirmed that he cannot reproduce anymore the bug. I close it. Reopen if necessary.

I cannot reproduce the bug on my machine. Somebody else can try elsewhere? Is the bug still present for the original poster?

I am having a similar crash if the first edit I do creates a new paragraph. If I add a single character to an existing paragraph first, the crash will not happen. I am using 1.0.6.6

Ah. I tried on another system with TeXmacs 1.0.6.6 and was able to reproduce the crash.

diff shows no difference whatsoever. Something must be changing with the internal state of the program. My version is 1.0.6-8.

Launching texmacs from the terminal, here is what I get:

It says "core dumped", but I cannot understand where the core has actually been dumped, otherwise I would attach it to the this comment.

This does not happen on my system 1.0.6.6. Can anybody else reproduce this crash?

Andrea: what is the difference (diff file1.tm file2.tm) of the files with and without the problem? (Before and after you added and then deleted a character.)

To reproduce the crash:

- open the attached file

- position the cursor just before the first letter of the text, but inside the "italian language" environement (just move the cursor one character right)

- press return

This happens always on the attached file.

It happens often when trying to modify the structure of a just opened document (adding a section, e.g.).

What is strange is:

if you take the example file, put the cursor somewhere, type a letter, cancel it, and save the file, the step that previously led to a crash becomes safe (texmacs does not crash anymore after it).

Texmacs version is 1.0.6.
