See bug #23435 for an open version of the same bug.

The overlap problem is also evident from the shopping cart on http://www.att.com.
Why is this bug closed?

Here's an example of gnash content overlapping an HTML menu:

Example of site where Flash content renders over web content:
http://www.toyota.ca/cgi-bin/WebObjects/WWW.woa/wa/vp?vp=Home&language=english
When you hover the cursor over any of the options on the right hand side, you'll be given options to select on the left of it.
i.e When you hover cursor over "VEHICLES", you should get a list of cars on the left hand side of the button and the flash content covers most of that list.

This should be worth while taking a look at again. Flash content still renders above non-flash content. This is a bug that had to be fixed in both firefox and flash plugins. There is now a solution in Firefox, so the ball is in your court now. It'd be awesome if it was fixed here before the actual Adobe Flash plugin. They still haven't fixed it in the version 10 beta.

Thanks for the great work guys! I pull your CVS every week and I'm amazed by the huge improvements in past few months.
Thanks again :)

I don't understand
Do you mean the firefox menus (File, Edit etc) or the Gnash GUI menu (right click on animation)?
Or from the Adobe bugs it's the javascript menus.
What javascript menus?
Anyway, these sites no longer have any flash on them as far as I can see. I tried KDE plugin with some other flash files and Konqueror menus over flash work fine.
I can't reproduce this bug and it;s over 6 months old so I;m closing it. If you can still reproduce it please resubmit it with updated info, or give some extra clues to be able to reprod it.
Cheers

"You mention it is a problem with adobe's player too so might be a known issue with the linux browsers ?"
Possibly, but this is not clear for me.
Can you confirm the overlapping under Konqueror + Klash? (At present my Klash does not work at all --bug #17658).

We need a 'plugin' category for this, as I think it's related
to the plugin interface. You mention it is a problem with adobe's player too so might be a known issue with the linux browsers ?
