I "fixed" this by modification of a *.bst style to replace \urlprefix{} by \url{}.

There is however another problem. When the URL is long enough, bibtex will split lines inside the URL. This will produce '%\n' inside the URL.

I have attached example files.
The problem occurs when we export to latex with bibliography as links.

Moreover in any case bibliographystyle is not defined in latex in the class letter. So, it is important to make sure that the style is set to, say, article.

Could you provide a test case?

I am not sure it is feasible to fix this because AFAIK TeXmacs does not parse the bibtex file. It might be unreasonable to include \usepackage{url} by default in any generated LaTeX file.

Perhaps an option could be introduced that allows one to add custom LaTeX snippets to the preamble of an exported LaTeX file. The current Text->Specific->LaTeX mechanism only works in the body of the document (and is buggy).

When the \url command is used in a bibtex file,
the command \usepackage{url} is missing in the latex file.
