Little we can do to help - as a system specific problem.

You can try debugging gnubg and see if you can get some more info - reopen this bug request if you do (I'm about to close it).

Have you tried to remove $HOME/.gnubgautorc as well. Not likely to be a problem in gnubg though.

Looks like a problem with glib or gtk. Unlikely to be a problem with gnubg. Looks like it's near a gtk_widget_reparent() call, which is a bit of a dodgy area in gtk.

I'm running an updated ubuntu edgy install. gnubg launched and played fine when I first installed it. After changed a few options and saving the settings it crashed, and now crashes on launch. I deleted the ~/.gnubg directory and reinstalled the package but it still crashes.

Attached a script showing the output in a terminal.
