AGG/FB support has been just checked in.
I'll close this item, but just wanted to suggest you to try the new code. It should be build using --enable-renderer=agg --enable-gui=fb

You still need a gui. If gtk gui fails because it uses opengl
you can try the SDL gui.

I try to build gnash for an ARM target using openembedded meta-distribution . The device use a framebuffer display with no opengl . I build it with "--enable-renderer=cairo --disable-gui" but it failed : "configure: error: invalid gui no given" . I use the cvs version .

from TODO file :

2. Write a non-OpenGL backend for embedded devices, probably using Cairo.

Since cairo/gtk2 is even provided in openembedded images ( gpe-image ... ) , using cairo without needed gtkglext is a good way. What should be done to make gnash work fine ( as a ff plugin also) without opengl , using cairo ( and gtk ) ? Perharps someone is already trying to do that ?
