Fixed by the following change in CVS:

2004-03-05 Marcus Brinkmann <marcus@gnu.org>

  • term.h (QUEUE_LOWAT): Increase to 200.

(QUEUE_HIWAT): Increase to 8100.

When cutting & pasting more than 300 bytes into the terminal (for example in a shell running under screen or over a telnet connection), only 300 bytes are actually entered, and the rest is dropped.

This seems to be related to the input buffer size in term, and the code that is responsible to block when the queue is full, and to wake up when it is emptied again. It is not clear what exactly is happening inside term.

The first task is to find out what exactly the internal behaviour of the reader, writer and queue manipulating code is. The second task is to fix the problem.
