To get debugging symbols in the object files compiled from Assembler
source files, I had to add '-g' to '$ASFLAGS' before configuring GNU
Mach. I used

$ CFLAGS="$CFLAGS -O0 -g" ASFLAGS="${ASFLAGS-$CFLAGS} -O0 -g" ./configure [...]
