Thanks, steps 2-3 seem work ok now.

The XFT tests are new, and for code that hasn't been committed. You can remove the GNASH_PATH_XFT from configure.ac, plus I just checked in xft.m4, so this should work now. Any bugs in the Xft configure test can be ignored as they aren't used by any of the code in CVS.

Steps to reproduce:
0) sudo apt-get install libxft-dev
1) cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.savannah.gnu.org:/sources/gnash co gnash
2) cd gnash; ./autogen.sh
3) ./configure

Expected results:
3) configure should run without errors

Actual results:
3) configure prints

./configure: line 25774: GNASH_PATH_XFT: command not found

and then continues printing more lines eventually stopping with

ERROR: No Xft development package installed! You need to have the xft development package installed to compile this project or install libxft-dev (using apt-get) or xft-devel (using yum).

Environment:
Debian unstable on x86.

Please ask for more info if you can't reproduce this.
