Hi!

I have the same problem - in Fedora Core 5, *64-bit AMD**, Firefox 1.5.0.10-1, gnash plugin shows all the flash movies as blank fields.

I downloaded one flash movie and tried to run it from command line and got such results:

Here is my gnash version, installed via Fedora package manager:

[~]$ gnash --version
Gnash 0.7.2
Copyright (C) 2006 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
Gnash comes with NO WARRANTY, to the extent permitted by law.
You may redistribute copies of Gnash under the terms of the GNU General
Public License. For more information, see the file named COPYING.
Build options 0.7.2
Renderer: opengl GUI: gtk Sound handler: gst Decoder: none

Here are the results on launching gnash:

[~]$ gnash /home/user/temp/on24.perekool.swf
gnash: indirect_vertex_array.c:659: emit_DrawArrays_old: Assertion `elements_per_request >= count' failed.
Aborted

Here is the original flash movie:

Hi

I have Ubuntu Edgy (6.10) for amd64 (x86_64) and have the same problem: flash looks blank - nothing at all. Gnash v 0.7.1, saved in /usr/lib/firefox/plugins.

This is despite the gnash standalone player being able to play movies.

I'd be willing to help debug this, especially if my son could play flash games on Ubuntu!

It doesnt work in Konqueror too
I get the error message that the
libary libklashpart has no function init_libklashpart

2.6.16.9 amd64 x86_64 system
gnash version 20060331

when I run the swf file with gnash it works fine

It's a debian linux 2.6.16.1 amd64 system. If I run the swf files within gnash, they display correctly, however there is no mouse interaction, yet I know the swf allows it.

AFAIK it's the GTK version.

Additionally, on one file, which i've tried with the gnash command line, I get:
gnash: jpeg.cpp:258: void jpeg::jpeg_error_exit(jpeg_common_struct*): Assertion `0' failed.
Aborted

It would help to know what OS you are on, and if you are using the SDL or the GTK version of the player. There is a known bug on FreeBSD platforms with this symptom. This sounds like a graphics library problem. For a test, try using the standalone "gnash" player with the downloaded movie.

I've just build gnash, and installed the firefox plugin - I had to move .firefox/plugin/libgnashplugin.so to /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins/ and when I go to about:plugins I get and entry for Shockwave Flash 8.0
application/x-shockwave-flash Shockwave Flash 8.0 swf Yes
When I go to a web page with a flash animation I no longer get the download plugin icon, but rather a white background, and a message on the status bar: Done flash movie /tmp/name.swf

Any ideas?
