This is outdated. Tab completion for file names in the mini buffer was implemented some time ago. It also works for "questions in popup windows".

TAB and file-completion is essential for efficient keyboard-based working with directories. TAB-TAB opens a new buffer with the contents of the current directory, and it would be nice if I could see the current directory in the minibuffer. A kind of dired would also be nice, but is probably too much work.
