There is presently (texmacs 1.0.7.15) no problem connecting to maxima 5.22 in linux.

It is supported in Ubuntu, with a simple fix:

Maxima 5.9.3 under Fedora4 and TeXmacs 1.0.6 is not supported yet. I can only run Maxima 5.9.2, even though I performed an rpm update. This item has not been submitted yet.
