It was fixed in cvs well before the 0.9.16.011 release, it just took some time for us to do the release.

FYI Debian's unstable packages of 0.9.16.011 seem to have corrected these issues, AFAICT

note 0.9.16.010 with a cvs update supports mysql 5

mysql 5 is not supported by phpgw 0.9.16. It should be supported in 0.9.18

By downgrading to MySQL 4.1 The issue was fixed.

I am having the same issue:

I have tried the Debian packages, as well as the tarball provided by phpgroupware.org

The error I get is:

Database error: Invalid SQL: SELECT contact_comm_descr.comm_descr_id AS comm_descr_id, contact_comm_descr.descr AS comm_description, contact_comm_descr.comm_type_id AS comm_type FROM phpgw_contact_comm_descr AS contact_comm_descr
MySQL Error: 1146 (Table 'phpgroupware.phpgw_contact_comm_descr' doesn't exist)

File: /var/www/phpgroupware/phpgwapi/inc/class.contacts_sql.inc.php
Line: 1426

platform:
i386 linux, kernel 2.6.12 debian etch
Apache 2
php4
mysql 5.0.16

HOWEVER

By downgrading to MySQL

I got the same problem!
it's not even possible to create an admin account!

maybe the problem is that we both run MySQL 5 - i had many problems with my own scripts after the upate, too.

my config:
WinXP SP2
Apache 2.2.0
MySQL 5.0.18
PHP 5.1.1

Hello,

I installed phpgroupware from the deb packages. After the setup steps, I went to http://localhost/phpgroupware/setup, logged in, and created the tables. Afterward, I went to http://localhost/phpgroupware/,and then got:
Database error: lock(phpgw_async, write) failed.
MySQL Error: 1146 (Table 'phpgroupware.phpgw_async' doesn't exist)

If I follow the script /usr/share/phpgroupware/phpgwapi/setup/tables_current.inc.php,
each table up to line 329 (phpgw_vfs) is created, all the rest is (phpgw_history_log, phpgw_async, phpgw_contact, ...). I tried a few times, deleting the DB and re-generating one. I also modified php4.ini as explained in the Readme

Is it a known problem ? Is there a simple fix ?

Platform:
- i386 linux, kernel 2.6.15, debian etch
- Apache/2.0.55
- php4: 4.4.2
- mysql Distrib 5.0.18

TIA
